Here's what usually happens on the last day in Da Nang. You're at the airport with 40 minutes to spare, you grab three keychains and a bag of coffee, and a week later nobody remembers who got what.

There's a cheaper, kinder version of that story. It takes about 45 minutes and a coffee.

What makes a souvenir get kept instead of binned

Ask yourself which gift from your last trip you still use. Odds are it was something practical, and it had a story. A makeup pouch your friend uses every morning, with her name stitched on the front and "Da Nang" in the story behind it, ticks both boxes. A magnet ticks neither.

So instead of buying ten small things nobody asked for, buy two or three things with names on them. Same budget, and they'll still be in use next year.

What you can get embroidered, and what it costs

For scale: one of everything in the table comes to roughly the price of a nice dinner for two on the beachfront. Most visitors leave with two or three pouches and one bigger piece.

How it works when you're on holiday

1. Walk in, or design online first. Type the name, pick a font, thread colour and a small icon, and see the preview update before you pay. In store, staff do this with you.
2. Pouches are embroidered on the spot, usually 30–45 minutes. Have a coffee downstairs and come back. Vanity cases, scarves and silk pyjamas take 1–3 working days; the printed-name pyjama version takes longer, so ask first.
3. Collect at the store or get it delivered to your Da Nang hotel. Pouches fold flat and weigh almost nothing, so they go in carry-on.

The one rule that matters: for anything bigger than a pouch, don't leave it to your last day. Each piece is stitched one at a time, and an order placed the evening before a morning flight won't make it.

Things we're honest about

• We only deliver within Vietnam. If you've already left, we can't ship it after you.
• The silk pyjamas currently come in one pink-stripe colour and one freesize (roughly 40–60 kg).
• Names fit up to about 10 characters. "Grandma Jo" works; a full double-barrelled surname doesn't.
